September meeting
At our September meeting we welcomed Janet and Paul Barrass (All Around the Shire) with their interactive talk "My Mum had one of those'. We were thoroughly entertained and shared memories of years gone by. Some members entered this months competition and wore 'War Time Dress". Paul deemed them all equal winners

January meeting
Well what a great meeting, it was extremely well attended with 2 new members joining and three visitors coming to see what we are all about.
Our talk as you can see from the poster our talk was all about well being . Our group did in fact learn some myths and were shocked by what we think is good for you is not always the case, who knew how many days worth of our recommended sugar intake would be used up by just a bowl of dried fruit & breakfast flakes, a glass of Orange juice and health bar? all items that we think are good for us but combined together need to be in moderation.
During November and December some of our members kindly donated there time to help with the bonfire and fire work display and the Christmas light switch on in the village .
Items were made during our November meeting and by members at home so that our WI could take part in the Village Christmas fayre that was organised at the old miners welfare in the village
The large wreath of poppies was on display i the village hall garden i the run up to and after remembrance Sunday when members of our WI joined the parade and service of remembrance to lay our tribute along side those of other village groups and relatives of the fallen.
Octobers meeting started off with a talk from Andy Smart looking back at the history of theater in Nottingham. His talk proved to me most interesting and provoked many memories for some of our members and surprise for others that Nottingham theater had attracted the leading acting stars in years gone by . even the longest running show the mouse trap had its world premier at Nottingham's Theater royal.
As it was the month of Halloween we had Halloween themed refreshments and we also had a decorated witches hat competition which our speaker kindly judged
