29/1/2014 0 Comments Tai ChiOur January meeting was a very tranquil affair as we all sat down to hear about the benefits of the ancient art of Tai Chi from experienced practitioner Joy Parsons. After a short talk about the history of the form and how she came to benefit from it we had a chance to try our a few simple moves ourselves. Even though we were only attempting the moves from what is in effect the warm up to the exercises proper we found it very calming and relaxing, as well as a much harder workout than it looked. It seems that the slower you move the more mental & physical control is required. We were then treated to a demonstration of about half of the full form performed by Joy which was mesmerising to watch. We are all now enthused about finding a Tai Chi class to attend locally.
