12/3/2016 0 Comments Social Media Made Simple! On Saturday 12 March, Notts Fed held a Social Media Awareness session at Worksop Library, where our own web and social whizz Claire was presenting to the group. The initial numbers were under ten, so imagine the surprise when Claire, and WI Advisor Helen Rose, arrived to find around 40 WI members and presidents filling the room, eager to find out more!
Keeping the workshop as simple and informative as possible, Claire explained the main social media channels, how they worked, their demographics, how to link them, the best content to post and when, and most importantly, how to stay safe online. Keeping the examples relatable, Claire explained how to use social media for the WI and the benefits of different social media channels. Covering Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, the responses received from attending members were wonderful, with many ladies saying they felt their fear of social media dissipate, enough to make them want to get online - what a result! Helen may be running a follow up 'hands on' session in the Summer for those who want some practice (and be able to ask for help!) and the presentation Claire made on the day is available as a refresher for any ladies who attended. If you'd like Claire to come and chat to your WI or run a hands on session, get in touch!
