14/9/2014 0 Comments Oh! What A Lovely TeaYesterday the Dynamo House was ringing to the sounds of WWI songs and the clink of vintage tea cups as it hosted the Bestwood Village Poppy Walk. Starting out from the War Memorial at 2pm the group of around 40 took a guided walk around the Mill Lakes. This was followed by an optional tour of the Winding Engine House and then the part of the day BVWI were most involved in - the afternoon tea. Dressed proudly in their "Nippies" costumes, made by Carol Hart, they served teas & coffees, sandwiches and cakes. The event was completed with readings from Gedling residents' diaries and the singing of war time songs organised by Becky Matter. To see photos of the event take a look in our gallery.
